“Nothing is good or bad but by comparison.” This is true. How come? For instance, if someone says a person is really smart. There must be some events or certificates that prove this person is smart. Yet, if this person takes an intelligence test and the score is pretty high. Then, I think we can say this person is smart enough. Another example is people often see different movie. However, sometimes filmmakers will produce old movie in different ways. Take “Tron” as an example. Tron is a 1982 American science fiction film. However, it has been remade in 2010. I saw both versions. Then, I suddenly find out that if the newest version does not exist. I might never like this movie. Why? The reason is that old technology can never produce high definition, so the movie would be less interesting. Also, the actors are changed. The actors in 2010 version are more fresh and amicable. In conclusion, I believe it is really difficult to tell the bad and good about a person or thing without comparing to others. In fact, without comparing, I guess everyone will think they are good enough. Students, who have poor grades, will never want to study hard and trying to be the first one. The reason is simply because they do not compare. Without comparing, people can hardly see the pros and cons of everything.
